What is Laser Cutting?

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut materials. It is typically used for industrial manufacturing applications. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high-power laser most commonly through optics.

How accurate is laser cutting? Tolerance lengths?

Machine supplies quote plus minus 0.1mm, Lasertec can work to tighter tolerances if requested, but this takes time to adjust machine parameters.  For thick materials, it is harder to measure accurately due to some technical restriction.

What Material can you cut?

Materials currently include mild steel up to 22mm, stainless steel up to 12mm and aluminium up to 6mm in most forms. Others include wood, acrylic and MDF board.

What drawing files do you accept?

DXF and DWG files are the most common and easily transferrable into most CAD/CAM systems.

How long will my order take?
